The asphalt tanker “Asphalt Navigator” grounded off the coast of Santa Domingo in the Dominican Republic in 1999. The ship was not allowed to sail before the significant risk of pollution was reduced. Approximately 60 m2 of Miko Plaster® was successfully installed and the “Asphalt Navigator” could safely sail across the Atlantic, using more than three weeks on the journey.
